NENGAJO are postcards sent as a greeting for the New Year. The Japanese send many nengajo every year. For example, my father used to receive 400 Nengajos every year and send 300 Negajos. The New Year holidays are very important to the Japanese. Nengajos are used to express gratitude, or maintain friendships on this special occasion.
